Mrs. Gypsy Evans Gaultney, 81, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Thursday, August 6, 2022 at her home.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 11, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Gaultney was born May 22, 1941 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Raymond Earl Evans, Sr. and Flora West Evans. She worked several jobs during her career but her absolute favorite was that of Children’s Director at the Phenix City Library. Mrs. Gaultney had a great love for children. She was also a faithful member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and recently a faithful visitor at Calvary Tabernacle.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Earl Evans, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Mike Gaultney of Smiths Station, AL; a daughter, Cissy Childs and husband Brian of Smiths Station, AL; a son, Michael Gaultney of Smiths Station, AL; three sisters, Judy Gaultney and husband Steve of Cataula, GA, Jill Clark and husband Randy of Phenix City, AL and Randi Milner and husband Chuck of Phenix City, AL; a brother, G. W. Evans and wife Faye of Valley, AL; a sister-in-law, Kaye Evans of Valley, AL; grandchildren, Lindsey Courson (Hannah), Tyler Courson (Amber), Colby Courson, Jade Gaultney, Joseph Forsythe, Abbey Gaultney and Mason Gaultney; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Hayden, Sebastian, Jeydon, Emma and Nathaniel; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
