H.B. Owens, Jr.

H.B. Owens, Jr., 74, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital.

A funeral is scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11am at Vance Brooks Funeral Home (Phenix City) with visitation from 10 until 11. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

He was born September 24, 1943 to the late H.B. Owens Sr. and Evelyn Aughtman Owens. Mr. Owens was a welder most of his life along with many other trades. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Missy Guidry Owens and a brother, Chris Owens.

He is survived by three daughters Tammy Dutcher, Tonya Jones, and Christy Craig; two sons: Shane Owens and wife Mandy, and Chad Owens; siblings are Boyd Owens, Gary Owens and Faye Dozier; Grandchildren are Joseph Dutcher and wife Tabatha, Tiffany Haynes and husband Joey, Da’Shay Owens, Nadia Owens, Kaitlyn Owens, Jada Jones, Luke Owens, Brayden Craig, Annsley Carswell and Blake Owens whom he and his wife adopted as a baby. Blake was the sunshine of his soul and will forever be in his Paw Paw’s heart! Great-grandchildren are Tyler Haynes, Owen Haynes, Waylen Haynes, Kingsley Owens, Kayden Owens, and Kiarah Owens; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many caring friends.
