Harry A. “Scotty” Scott, 67 of Phenix City, AL passed away suddenly on Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Francis.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Matt Stevens officiating. A private family committal will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:30 Wednesday.
Scotty was born July 15, 1950 in Columbus, GA to Nealie Simmons Scott and the late Harry A. Scott, Sr. He proudly served in the US Navy. Scotty loved people, and showed that many ways. His love of Gospel music showed his love for Jesus while singing or attending singings. Scotty loved his family, his wife, children and grandchildren, but also his aunts, uncles and cousins. Family meant everything and he was constantly found serving and meeting the needs of others. His sense of humor always warmed any room he entered. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheryl Covington Scott; mother, Nealie Simmons Scott; Daughter Tammy Moseley, her husband Scott and children, Madison and Davis, Son Shawn Scott, his wife Rachael and children Ansley, Claudia, Bennett, Connor, Ella, Grace and Lexi, Daughter Amanda Brinke; siblings, Kathy Jo Scott Oakes, her husband Terry, Jed Simmons, his wife Betsy; several other extended family and many caring friends.
