Hattie Pearl James, 80, of Columbus, GA passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Columbus Hospice House. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, 4500 St Marys Rd, Columbus, GA on Friday, November 6, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am with Brother Matthew Jones officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus.
Hattie was born on March 12, 1940 in Columbus, GA to the late Henry Jones and Amanda Blake Jones. She worked many years as a Home Health Aide and Certified Nursing Assistant for Dr. C.L. Hand. Hattie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved and cared for her family very much. Her fingerprint has been left on the hearts and lives of so many who were blessed to know her. Hattie will be greatly missed by her family and friends, as well as her church family at Edgewood Church of Christ.
Other than her parents, Hattie is preceded in death by husband, Arthur James Taylor, Sr.; sisters, Dorothy James and Wynderlyn Lynn; and brothers, Roy Mitchell and John Mitchell.
Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Hamm (Robert) and son, Arthur James Taylor, Jr., both of Columbus, GA; sister, Mildred Walker; devoted granddaughter, Darlene Jackson (Kenneth); and great-granddaughter, Brittany Taylor.
