Hayward "Craig" Davis

Hayward “Craig” Davis, 55, of Seale, AL passed away peacefully Friday, February 16, 2018 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Ricky Davis officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Craig was born August 6, 1962 in Phenix City, AL to Myra Nelson Davis and the late Herbert Davis, Sr.  He had worked in Columbus as a solid surface fabricator for most of his life.  He served the Seale community and was a former member of the Seale Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he formally raced at East Alabama Motor Speedway.  He was a Baptist by faith. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Davis, Jr., and his grandparents, Cleveland and Lucille Nelson who raised and loved him as their own son.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Judy Lynn Kanzler Davis, two sons, Brian Davis, and Landon Davis, all of Seale, AL, mother, Myra Nelson Davis of Seale, AL, one sister, Cynthia Thrash of the Dixie community, mother-in-law, Annette Amick of Cottonton, AL, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many caring friends.
