Helen L. Hancock Turner, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Udell Addison officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner was born March 13, 1931 in Moultrie, GA to the late Luther James Hancock and Hazel Yon Hancock McConnell. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who had a deep devotion for her family. She was a member of North Phenix Baptist Church and her passion was cooking and loving family and everyone. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Todd Williams and Ben Turner, and four brothers.
She is survived by a son, Joey Williams and wife Jennifer, daughter, Deborah Turner Pridemore and Bill, one sister, Gene Weeks, and a brother, Harvey Saturday and wife Diane; (7) grandchildren, Brayden, Kendall, Ephan, Michael, Corey, Kyle, and Whitney, and two great grandchildren, Kinsey and K J, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the General Fund at Garden Calvary 7595 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909 in memory of Mrs. Helen Turner. Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
