Helga E. Walters

Helga E. Walters, 84, of Columbus, GA died at Columbus Hospice Friday, February 21, 2020 with her family at her side.

A private service was held for family and close friends according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Walters was born July 30, 1935 in Breslau, Germany daughter of the late Herbert Elsner and Elsa Schultz Elsner. She had worked in Retail Sales for many years in California before retiring to enjoy life with her husband and family.

While in Breslau, Germany, now part of Poland, she was part of many “adventures” involving the Germans. As a teenager her grandparents finally were able to get her out of Germany to safety. 

We will continue to share her stories and remember the good times we shared with her as a family.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Walters, Columbus, GA; three children, Steve Sanchez, Lori Muir and David Walters; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
