Herbert Raymond Krapf, 77, of Midland, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 surrounded by his family. A service of celebration is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2014 beginning at 4:00 P.M. EST, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Krapf was born October 17, 1937 in St. Louis, MO son of the late Herbert and Marie Krapf. Herb joined Royal Crown Cola Co. in Granite City, IL in 1961, working in manufacturing until 1969. He was promoted to Plant Manager in La Mirada, CA and was instrumental in the construction of the facility. He transferred to Columbus, GA concentrate plant as Plant Manager and later was promoted to Director of Concentrate Manufacturing before transferring to RC Cola International as Technical Director. He traveled the world to manage manufacturing operations in Manila Philippines, Bangkok Thailand, Mexico City Mexico and Amsterdam Holland while providing expertise to bottlers in over 60 countries which total 102 bottling plants. Herb thoroughly enjoyed the travel and loved working at RC Cola International and all the people he worked with. He retired in 2006 and spent time working in the yard and relaxing. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife Dorie Biskup Krapf of Midland, GA; children, Mary Diana Cueva (Manuel) of LaMirada, CA, Jill Marie Saliba (Mike) of Escondido, CA, Herbert Anthony Krapf of Whittier, CA and Aimee Jo Lohmann (Troy) of Aneheim, CA; former wife, Mary Jo Krapf; grandchildren, Shannon Saliba, Cole Saliba, Elizabeth Cueva and Sarah Cueva; brothers, Raymond Krapf, Larry Krapf, Tom Krapf and Jim Krapf; several nieces, nephews and other extended family
