Herman Lewis Graham

Herman Lewis Graham, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2016 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Friday, October 7, 2016  at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Dr. Wayne Scarborough and Rev. Elbert Ward officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Graham was born January 14, 1936 in Pike County, AL to the late Benny T. Graham and Flora Edna Jackson Graham.  He was the owner of and operator of G & F Drywall Company.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family deeply.  Mr. Graham had a passion for hard work and honesty, he was a man of great character.  He was member of Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 ½ years, Janice R. Layfield Graham a sister, Dora Jean Garrett and two brothers, Hershal Graham and Terry Graham.

He is survived by, two daughters, Rhonda Scarborough and husband Dr. Wayne Scarborough, and Angela Windham, both of Phenix City, AL, one son, Lewis “Scott” Graham and wife Pamela of Crawford, AL, three sisters, Annette Sharp and husband Jerry of Salem, AL, Sara Arroyo and husband Jesse of Smiths Station, AL, and Bennie Dean Hawn of Pensacola, FL, (5) grandchildren, Larry Scarborough, Stephanie Chastain (Paul), Whitney Redmond (Ellis), Amanda Thaxton (Troy), and Emily Graham, (6) great grandchildren, Lauryn, Trey, Patrick, Isabell, Mason, and Everett, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
