Hildegard Ann Huff

Hildegard Ann Huff, 87, of Columbus, Ga, entered her heavenly home on October 3, 2024. Hildegard was born on May 2, 1937, to the late Katie Prestwood in Giessen, Germany. She worked for Kellogg’s as a packer until she retired in 2004, but she prided herself in caring for her family. Hildegard was married in 1957 to the late Walter Huff and remained his devoted and faithful wife throughout their marriage and even after his passing in 1977. After losing her husband, Hildegard raised their children independently with pride and was their biggest advocate through life. She enjoyed shopping, reading, crocheting and knitting. Hildegard would often work in the yard and tend to her 60+ plants. She loved painting her home and would paint her walls yearly, one room at a time. Hildegard was known to have quite the road rage and was a strong-willed woman who was very opinionated and laughed often. Hildegard will be missed deeply by those who knew and loved her. 

Hildegard Huff is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Huff; mother, Katie Prestwood; sister, Edith Trimback; and brother, Karl Gerlach. 

Hildegard Huff is survived by her children, Anita McDaniel (Ronald), Linda Thomas (William), and Garland Huff; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
