Hoyt "Mike" Shamblin

Hoyt “Mike” Shamblin, 57, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, February 06, 2016 at Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, GA.  Graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, February 12, 2016 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST with the Reverend Mike Reeves  officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mike was born January 25, 1959 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to the parents of the late Hoyt and Trecia Smith Shamblin.  He was employed at Peek Pavement.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Georgia Bull Dog football and wrestling.

Other than his parents, Mike is predeceased by a sister, Donna Padgett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Glenda Shamblin; one stepson, Mark J. Robinson (Tiffany) of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren:  Alyssa Cassady, Austin Robinson, Christopher Tenney and Tauni Tenney; six great grandchildren:  McKenna, Kaelyn, Tiffany, Ethan, Felicity and Simon; three sisters:  Annette Brown (Joe) of Columbus, GA and Joyce Leeth (Ken) of Opelika, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
