Hubert Nathan “Herb” Purcell

Hubert Nathan “Herb” Purcell, 51, of Phenix City, AL, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, November 27, 2020 at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan, GA.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 at 12 noon CST / 1:00 pm EST at The Bridge Church in Cusseta, AL with Pastor Bill Bryan officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the church.
Herb was born September 28, 1969 in Phenix City, AL to Nathan Purcell and Alice Helms Purcell. He was employed with Creative Wall of Lithonia, GA with 25 years of service. Mr. Purcell was passionate about his work ethics and enjoyed the many challenges and joy that his profession engaged in. He loved playing pool with his sons, drag racing, was a huge Auburn fan and took great joy spending time with his family and all his grandchildren. He was a member of The Bridge Church in Cusseta, AL. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael Dewayne Purcell, and Christopher Allen Purcell.
Other than his parents, He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Susan O. Childree Purcell of Phenix City, AL, four sons, Robbie Williams and wife Shannaly of Beulah, AL, Seth Purcell and wife Jacque of Tulsa, OK, Jacob Purcell of Phenix City, AL, and Shayne Word of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Cayden Williams, Bryson Williams, Kyler Williams, Kaysen Purcell, and one on the way, Brynlee Williams, his mother in law, Shirley Childree, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
