Ida “Inez” Phillips Williams, 98, of Columbus, Ga and formally of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Friday, April 17, 2015 at Ladonia Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday. Mrs. Williams was born January 22, 1917 in Grangeburg, AL to William Alfred Phillips and Maxie Mae Powell Phillips. She was retired from Wipo Manufacturing in Columbus, GA. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, the outdoors, and family time. She was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oadley Shelton “OS” Williams and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Melba June Warner and husband Robert, Martha Inez Shannon and husband Edward, and Foy A. Lewis, one sister, Lessie V. Ivy, (8) grandchildren, (13) great grandchildren, (2) great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews
