Irene H. Daniels

Irene H. Schaefer Daniels, 90, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully while at the Gardens of Calvary, Columbus, GA with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM (EST) on Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Bud Ruppel officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Mrs. Daniels was born December 19, 1931, in Giessen, Germany daughter of the late William Schaefer and Augusta Schuchardt Schaefer. Having worked in Human Resources and as an Executive Secretary, she retired from Southern Phenix Textiles. Mrs. Daniels was a loving and caring person who put her family’s wellbeing above her own. She will always be a cherished memory in our hearts.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her parents, William and Augusta Schaefer; her husband of 64 years, SSGT (Ret) Troy Jackson Daniels, Jr. and siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Fielding Anderson and husband Byron O. “Bo” of Phenix City, AL, two sons, Larry Daniels and wife Lourdes of El Cerrito, CA, and Richard “Rich” Daniels and wife Patricia of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Karl-Heinz Schaefer; two grandchildren, Clay Owen (Maria), and Courtney Alakamovitch (Michael), and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Will; special nephew, Robert “Bob” Webb; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
