Iris Mae Bradley

Iris Mae Sloan Bradley, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Monday, July 25, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Emory Evans officiating.  Interment will follow on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 12:00 noon EDT at Hortense Community Cemetery in Hortense, GA.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.  Honorary Pallbearers: David Gann; Jake Graves; Jay Anderson; Josh Bradley; Taylor Brooks; Jonathon Kline; Patrick Bradley; and Paul Bradley Jr.

Mrs. Bradley was born October 24, 1940 in Hortense, GA to the late Vernie Dillworth Sloan and Mary Lura Taylor Sloan.  Not only was she a loving and caring mother to her own children, she provided guidance to many others through her service in children’s day care and Sunday school programs.   She was dedicated wife of a retired Navy Veteran.  She had been attending Faith Temple Assembly of God Church, as well as a member of the VFW.  She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wain Bradley, and two sisters, Estelle Sloan and Louise Lloyd, and her only brother, Marvin Sloan.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Alvin Charles Bradley, two daughters, Debby Mott, and Karen Bradley, two sons, Paul Bradley and wife Pamela Jean, and Curtis Bradley and wife Pamela Jo, two sisters, Myrtice Zorn, and Lois Ashby and husband Charles, and sister-in-law, Lerathe Sloan, (13) grandchildren, (6) great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
