Jack Carlton Templeton

Jack Carlton Templeton, 93, of Fortson, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 With a visitation prior to memorial service at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Road Columbus, GA. Mr. Templeton was born March 13, 1921 in Hamilton, Alabama to the late Charlie Robinson Templeton and Sarah Pope Templeton. Mr. Templeton served in the Army during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also a Mason. In addition to his parents, Mr. Templeton was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Elouise Cantrell Templeton. Survivors include his children, Vikki Traywick and James of Fortson, GA, Lanny Templeton of Columbus, GA, Rev. James Templeton and Jackie of Jacksonville, FL, Charlie Templeton and Kitty of Murphreesboro, TN and Farlie Templeton and Leslie of Birmingham, AL; a sister Bobbie Sorrell and Bob of Kokomo, IN; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
