Jack Ward

Jack Ward, 79 of Salem, AL, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family.   

 Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

 Mr. Ward was born August 30, 1936 in Henry County, AL, son of the late Jess Ward and Lena Sanders Ward.  He retired after many years of service from Lewis Jones Grocery as a meat cutter.  Mr. Ward was the founder of the Ward Family Gospel Singers and a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

 Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers.

 He is survived by his loving wife Marie Kelly Ward of Salem, AL; two daughters, Jackie Ward Butler and husband Tony of LaGrange, GA and Debra Ward Hill and husband Jay of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Mike Ward and wife Bobbie of Salem, AL and Todd Ward and wife Cathy of Smiths Station, AL; one sister, Linda Gail Ryles of Enterprise, AL; one brother, Edward Ward of Dothan, AL; 13 grandchildren, Shaun, Brittany, Tiffany, Shanna, Brad, Bryan, Breezie, Madisyn, Kym, Mike, Jason, Amanda and Brandon; 25 great-grandchildren and several other family members and many caring friends.
