Jack William Cameron, 78, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his residence. The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Private services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home with interment at Parkhill immediately following.
Jack was born on March 22, 1942 in Andalusia, AL to the late James and Margaret Cameron. He was Baptist by faith.
Jack was employed with Bibb Manufacturing, where he retired after many successful years of working as a Supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as Harley Davidson, go-karts, and NASCAR. Jack was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who, without a doubt, loved and cared for his family. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Other than his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his loving and devoted spouse of 49 years, Betty Cameron, and sister, Ceretha Mooneyham.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Reynolds (Mike) of Columbus, GA, Stacey Baker of Shiloh, GA, and Denise Pratt (Paul) of Columbus, GA; brother, James Cameron, Jr.; grandchildren, Jason Brewer (Tammy), Melissa Guthrie (Lee), Jarred “Bo” Baker, Annie McDaniel, Davey Ridenour, Jack Ridenour (Savannah), Angie Pratt; great-grandchildren, William Wyatt Gnann, Gracie Gnann, Dakota Whatley, Mason Guthrie, Memphis Guthrie, Miller Guthrie, Cameron McDaniel, Jessie Baker, Betty Lace Baker; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Paws Humane Society, and/or the American Lung Association.
