Jacqueline Durham Ray, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be held 3:00 pm EST Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. R. G. Blackwell and Dr. Wayne Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Mrs. Ray was born April 30, 1930 in Moffatt, AL to the late John Oscar Durham, Sr. and Annie B. Hardin Luttrell. She grew up in the Pine Mountain Valley and Phenix City. She graduated from Harris County High School and had worked in retail sales and with Fieldcrest Mills for 17 years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and gardening and was a member of Seale Road Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Retired CPT. Chappell Brooks Ray, Jr., and two brothers, John O. “Buddy” Durham, Jr. and Richard Luttrell. She is survived by one son, Jerry Ray and wife Pam of Phenix City, AL, one sister, Nedra Lambert and husband Gene of Albertville, AL and two brothers, Larry Luttrell and wife Judy of Fairhope, AL, and Lamar Luttrell of Albertville, AL.Three grandchildren, Terry Eugene Ray (Jennifer), Brandi Ingram (Kevin), and Darrell Ray (Chanda), (11) great grandchildren, (1) great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA
