Jacquline “Jackie” Griggs

Jacqueline “Jackie” Bullock Griggs, 92, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday evening, October 6, 2023, at Thrive Assisted Living in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. A private interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Ms. Griggs was born April 24, 1931, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Henry Bullock and Ruth Tillis Bullock. She was a lady of great character, always doing the things needed for her family and husband. She loved doing the simple things in life, cooking, fellowship, church, travel, and tending to all her flowers. But her greatest joy was spending time with all her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church in Phenix City.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, CWO-3 (Ret.) Howard O. Griggs; one sister, Virginia Pollis; and two granddaughters, April Michele Lee, and Ashley Phelps.
Left to cherish her memories are two children, son, Richard Griggs (Tammy), Laurel Hills, FL and daughter, Robin Huckaby (Cleven), Smiths Station, AL; three sisters, Connie Forrest of Columbus, GA, Janice Goddard of Columbus, GA, and Linda Rogers of Hiawassee, GA; two brothers, Charles Bullock (Ann) and Jimmy Bullock (Janice) of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, Clayton Huckaby (Amber), Phenix City, AL, David Alan Griggs (Kimberlie), Allicia Griggs both of Laurel Hills, FL, Tamra Walker (Chris), Birmingham, AL, David Griggs, Danny Washburn and Julie Griggs, all of Phenix City, AL; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Lee, Walker Huckaby, Jackie Griggs, Maggie Harper, Dylan Walker and Chrislyn Walker; many loved nieces, nephews and close friends.
