James Allen Storey

James Allen Storey, 88, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Pell City, AL.  A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4400 Reese Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Friday, May 26, 2017 beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST with Bishop Heiss officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Riverdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2017 at the church from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.  

Mr. Storey was born November 3, 1928 in Columbus, GA to Nina Fuller Storey and the late Jessie Storey.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Mr. Storey graduated from Jordan High School in 1946.  He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on June 6, 1948.  He worked in the finance business from 1955 until 1966. He owned and operated Storey Flooring from 1966 until 2001.  He was a wonderful father and husband. 

Other than his parents, Mr. Storey is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Storey and his sister, Margaret Storey Roberts.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kay Middleton Storey; four sons:  Sam Storey of Capitola, CA, Malcolm Wood of Powder Springs, GA, Kelly Wood of Ideal, GA and Jason Storey of Pell City, AL; and daughter, Melanie Wood Call of South Weber, UT.
