Mr. James Edward Boyett, 87, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 in an automobile accident.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 am edt Friday, August 14, 2020 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Boyett, Brock Boyett, Brandon Kesler, Ryan Kesler, Ricky Boyett and Phil Cook,
Mr. Boyett was born May 24, 1933 in Geneva County, AL, son of the late James “Jim” Matthew Boyett and Lonie Lee Jeter Boyett. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Mr. Boyett was a truck driver most of his career. He loved Alabama Football, fishing and spending time with his family.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Boyett, Elton “Debo” Boyett and Bill Boyett; one sister, Mildred Cook.
Mr. Boyett is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Addie Ruth Ackiss Boyett of Smiths Station, AL; two daughters, Sherri Boyett Faulkner of Smiths Station, AL and Cindy Boyett Kesler of Phenix City, AL; one son, Ronnie Boyett (Maggie) of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Marisa Faulkner, Brandon “BJ” Kesler, Ryan Kesler, Madison Patel (Sarj), Brock Boyett and Brett Butler (Alyse); seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee Cerean, Mekenzie Kesler, Kenzley Pipps, Brinley Kesler, Sagel Patel, Phoenix Patel and Brook-Lynn Kesler; several other extended family and friends.
