James Davis Moxley, Sr., 83, of Salem, AL passed away peacefully early Monday morning, December 28, 2015 with his family in Gulf Shores, AL.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.
Mr. Moxley was born September 6, 1932 in Moxley, GA to the late Walter Sloane Moxley and Myrtle Elizabeth Davis Moxley. He was member of the Crawford Road Masonic Lodge #863 and the Shriners of both Phenix City and Montgomery. He also attended Crawford Baptist Church for many years. He is preceded in death by his wives Deloris Brown, Virginia Moxley and Dorothy Moxley and a brother Charles Moxley.
He is survived by his children Cynthia Moxley and husband Alan Carmichael of Knoxville, TN, Jimmy and Tess Moxley of Foley, Al, Ann and Robert Bledsoe of NM, Susan and Ricky Howard of Salem, AL, Chris Jenkins of Phenix City, AL and Gerald Jenkins of Wetumpka, AL; 9 grandchildren; 8 greatgrandchildren; numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605 .
