James Allen, 65, of Phenix City passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1950 in Coffee County to the Late C. W. and Daisy Merle Allen. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11 from 6-8 pm at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 2pm at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Barry Danner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
James worked at Tom’s Foods for 38 ½ years. He got saved as a teenager and soon felt the call to preach. During his time of ministry he was blessed to pastor three churches. After retiring from Tom’s he began working at First Assembly of God where he was able to continue ministerial work. He often stated that this was the best job he ever had. He was a devoted member of First Assembly of God for over 20 years.
He was hardworking, focused on providing for his family, and a great teacher and counselor. He loved his wife for 33 wonderful years. His daughter was the light of his life and was proud of all her accomplishments.
James was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and nephew. Survivors include his wife, Anna Keith Allen, his daughter, Ashley Allen, sister, Faye (Grady) Jones, brother, Philip (Teresa) Allen, sis in law, Iris Parker, brother in law, Billy (Sheila) Keith, nieces, Nikki (Randall) Godfrey, Lisa (Mike) Ross, Nicole (John) Dubois, Tiffany Kaiser, nephew Ryen Vest Jones, 10 great nieces, 2 great nephews, and a host of other family and friends and his beloved dog, Daisy.
