James Earl Forlines, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023, at the Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Reverend Ken Savage officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Mr. Forlines was born July 16, 1943, in Columbus, GA and was the son of the late James Daniel Forlines and Lois Harper Forlines. He was employed with Goldens’ Foundry & Machine Company in Columbus, GA with a lifelong service of 63 loyal years. His commitment to service and excellence of his duties was exemplified every day of his career. He was a man of great character that understood value and relationships. As a graduate of the University of Alabama, he enjoyed watching the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Janet “Jan” Forlines; children, James D. Forlines, II (Kim), Elizabeth Austin (Harmon), Jimmy Hall (Ann), Brad Hall (Tiffany); step mother Dean; sisters, Olivia Forlines Dalton, Sheri Johnson (Joe), and Dana; brothers, Jeremy Forlines, Larry White (Katie), and David White (Marie); seven grandchildren, Nolan Forlines, Matthew Austin, Chris Austin, Kayla Holloman (Cameron), Cadence Hall, Tommy Hall, and Aubrey Hall; five precious great-grandchildren, Brantley, Calvin, Ellen Grace, Anastasia, and Waylon; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, co-workers, and many caring friends.
