James Floyd Stephens, Sr., 66, of Phenix City, Al died at his residence Thursday, April 25, 2019.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) Saturday, May 04, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral, Phenix City, with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating. A private committal service will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Stephens was born July 4, 1952 in Columbus, GA son of the late Floyd Stephens and Mildred Carmichael Stephens. He attended New Beginnings Church in Phenix City and had retired as an Insurance Agent with A. L. Williams Agency. He always had a smile, hug and kiss for everyone. Mr. Stephens enjoyed bow hunting and bow competitions during his healthier years. He also enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. We will always cherish the memories of him reading his Bible, his love for Jesus and his family. He will always be in our hearts.
Survivors include his three children, Teresa Dobson (Rick), Phenix City, AL, James Floyd “Jamie” Stephens, Jr. (Michelle), Winder, GA and Sarah Bryan, Phenix City, AL; six grandchildren, Amber Moss, Joshua Broach, Brooke Stephens, Ethan Brasseaux, Alayna Stephens and Kalie Brasseaux; five great-grandchildren; mother of Teresa and Jamie, Barbara Broome; two special nieces, Nancy Hart and Amanda Hill; best friend, Robert Jones and caretaker, Linda Barefoot; several other family members and friends also survive.
