James Jimmy Griggs

James “Jimmy” Griggs, 62, of Salem, AL died at his home on Wednesday, October 02, 2024.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. 

Mr. Griggs was born July 17, 1962 in Columbus, GA son of Mary Elizabeth Martin Griggs and the late Efford Edward Griggs. He had worked for Terry’s Grocery in Smiths Station for several years where he was well liked by his co-workers and customers. Jimmy was a private man who enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, shooting his guns and cuting his grass. He will be missed by those who knew him best. 

Survivors other than his mother, Mary Griggs, include his sister, Penny Turnbull, Waverly Hall, GA and a brother, Mike Griggs, Salem, AL; best friend of 40 years, Sandra Kim, Smiths Station, AL; several nieces, nephews and friends.
