James E. "J J" Jackson

Mr. James E. “J J” Jackson, 81, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. 

 A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm EST Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Mike Turner officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

 Mr. Jackson was born on December 9, 1942 in Auburn, AL, son of the late James Coleman Jackson and Ella Ruth Rhodes Jackson. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Mr. Jackson spent the majority of his career as Procurement Manager for both the W. C. Bradley Co. and Cooper Lighting. His passion was motorcycles and spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Patriot Guard and the Eagles Wings Motorcycle Association, where he served as the Region A Director.

 Mr. Jackson is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue Reid Jackson; a daughter, Jandee Jackson Cain and husband Johnny; a brother, Terry Jackson; grandchildren, Janna Makaylee Fischer (John) and Jared Jackson Cain; extended family and friends.
