James “Jim” E. Lett, Sr. 88, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Tommy Poole officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30pm EST at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Lett was born on March 30, 1925, in LaGrange, GA, the son of the late, Sylvon Taylor Lett and Ethel Tackett Lett. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the 6th Marine Division Association. Mr. Lett was a member of Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge #351, a Scottish Rite Mason, a Past Patron of Wilson Williams Order of the Eastern Star, and he was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by, a son, James Lett, Jr., a sister Jean Breedlove and a brother Charles Lett.
He is survived his daughters, Linda D. Lett of Phenix City, AL and Sharon Frith of Milbrook, AL; 3 grandchildren, Amanda B. Abreo, Christal Simpkins and Carrie Denham; 4 great grandchildren; other extended family and many caring friends.
