James "Jc" Curtis Morris

July 31, 1953 — August 20, 2016

James Curtis “JC” Morris, 63, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Saturday morning, August 20, 2016 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, AL.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held 3:00 pm EDT Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.  A private interment will be held at a later date.  The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

James was born July 31, 1953 in Phenix City, AL to the late Curtis “Buck” Morris and Bonnie Ruth Louise Martin Morris.  He had worked with Ferrell Gas Company as a service manager for many years in Columbus, GA.  He enjoyed entertaining people and was talented in playing the guitar and singing.  James loved spending time with his family, fishing, and the outdoors.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Young.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Leigh Marcelle Gillispie Morris of Phenix City, AL, three children, Jonathan Adams of Tennessee, Misty Nicole Morris of Smiths Station, AL, and James “Daniel” Morris of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Diane Pope of Columbus, GA, and Debra Morris McTaggarg of Smiths Station, AL, three brothers, Marvin Morris and wife Renee of Pell City, AL, Pete Morris and wife Cathy of Smiths Station, AL, and Doug Morris and wife Barbara of Columbus, GA; (5) grandchildren and one on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the James Curtis Morris go-fund-me-account to help with funeral expenses, your help will be greatly appreciated.
