James “Jim” D. Grohman, 80, of Smiths Station, AL died at his residence on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 with his family by his side.
A private service will be held at 4:00 PM (EST) on Friday, May 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Grohman was born January 02, 1940 in Vergennes, IL son of the late Paul Grohman and Margery Carter Reidelberger. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and had retired from Ft. Benning as the Chief of Data Processing after 35 years. Mr. Grohman was a simple man who enjoyed the company of his family and close friends. We will miss him greatly but cherish his fond memories in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Clenney Grohman, Smiths Station, AL; children, Cindi Macaluso (Dominic), Greer, SC, Terri Stouffer (Dean), Chattanooga, TN, Dean Grohman (Heidi), Smiths Station, AL and Lance Grohman (Karen), Phenix City, AL; one sister, Jane Fontana (Dennis) Pinckneyville, IL; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
