James Edward Gaylor, age 58, of Phenix City, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus Ga. Jimmy was born on February 18, 1957. He was the son of James Bobby Gaylor and Mary Jeanette Williamson. He was the grandson of Edward and Mae Riley Williamson, and James Harold and Addie Gaylor. Jimmy graduated in 1975 from Glenwood School. He was married in 1980 to Robin Jackson, of Smiths Station. For the past 10 years, he was employed with Livingston Service Company.
Jimmy loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved following Glenwood baseball, and supporting the team and the school. He loved keeping in touch with his longtime childhood friends and reminiscing about their fun younger days, and marveling at how they survived to be adults.
Jimmy Gaylor was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his Mother, Jeanette Gaylor.
He is survived by his Father, Bobby Gaylor and wife Etta, his wife of 35 years, Robin, three adoring sons, Matthew, Winn and Adam Gaylor. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Steve and DeeDee Gaylor, of Midland, Ga., and his brother in law and sister in law, Ron and Rhonda Jackson, of Lake Harding, Al, his nephew, Hunter Gaylor, and his wife, Jennifer, their children, Addie and Andrew, of Phenix City, his niece, Lindsey Dickson, and her husband, Adam, of Phenix City, and their soon-to-be twins, who Jimmy was so looking forward to meeting.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm EST Thursday evening, February 4, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Stephan Brinkman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
