James “Jimmy” Henry Jackson, Jr. 71, of Smiths Station, Al, entered his heavenly home surrounded by family on February 24, 2025. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm EST. A funeral service will be held at Central Baptist Church, 1407 Broad St., Phenix City, Al 36867 on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm EST.
Jimmy Jackson was born on January 19, 1954, to the late Jewell Mae and James Henry Jackson, Sr. Graduating from the Central High School class of ’72, he later became a truck driver until he retired. Jimmy married the love of his life, Marie Elizabeth Jackson, in 1974 and had 2 children, Jamie, and Blair. He loved his family, especially his 3 grandchildren who had him wrapped around their fingers. Jimmy was passionate about truck driving and his John Deere Tractor. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, working in his shop, welding, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and cutting the grass. Jimmy preferred to be home keeping himself busy after retirement. He was a true southern man who lived by faith. Jimmy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jimmy Jackson is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Elizabeth Jackson; parents, Jewell Mae and James Henry Jackson; and sister, Jacquelyn Jackson.
Jimmy is survived by his sons, James “Jamie” Jackson (Megan) of Smiths Station, AL, and Jason “Blair” Jackson of Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Justin Jackson, Cody Jackson, and Joshua Jackson; and niece, Tonya Kittrell (Walt).
