James "Jimmy" Edward Manring

Mr. James “Jimmy” Edward Manring, 70, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at his home. 

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm EDT Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 9117 Lee Road 158, Salem, AL 36874 with Rev. Ben Hewitt officiating. 

Mr. Manring was born in Phenix City, AL on June 18, 1954, son of the late Edward A. Manring and Debbie A. Cooper Farley. He graduated from Hardaway High School, where he ran track. After High School, he worked for the majority of his career in the construction industry. Mr. Manring was a quiet man that kept to himself and found peace in finishing work on his job. He also liked to fix anything that was broken. He will be missed by his family. 

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Florence Howell Manring; step-father, Doran “Jim” V. Farley; and a brother-in-law, Dale Todd. 

Mr. Manring is survived by two sisters, Sandra Todd of Daleville, AL and Kathy Moore and husband Charles of Columbus, GA; a niece, Stacie Wilkes; nephews, Steve Todd and Clarence Moore; as well as several extended family.
