Mr. Osbourne was born January 18, 1949 in Lebanon, KY, son of the late Thomas Martin Osbourne and Anna Laura Wheatley Osbourne.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army, with 23 years of service before retiring.  Additionally, he worked for over 20 years on Ft. Benning with NAF.  Bob’s passion was playing golf, watching University of Kentucky basketball, as well as spending time with his family.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.

You did not have to know Bob long to know that his wife Phyllis was the love of his life. They were high school sweethearts, who had their first date as freshmen. It was through letters exchanged while serving in Vietnam, that he knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. Bob and Phyllis demonstrated their love in both words and actions and Phyllis cared for him sacrificially until the very end.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty O’Daniel, Sarah Mitchener and Lucinda Strange and three brothers, Richard Osbourne, J. T. Osbourne and Donnie Osbourne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis Logsdon Osbourne of Smiths Station, AL; a daughter, Marinda Osbourne Smith and husband Alan of Fortson, GA; a son, John Osbourne and wife Tina of Ft. Mitchell; four sisters, Barbara Quam of Bardstown, KY, Nancy Tatum and husband Larry of Lebanon, KY, Imelda Woodruff and husband Woody of Laguna Hills, CA and Sally Milburn of Springfield, KY; one brother, Damion Osbourne and wife Judy of New Haven, KY; grandchildren, Morgan Hall (Jackson), Abby Frey (Garrett), Nicole Osbourne (Josh Bryson), Eli Smith and Ella Osbourne; great-grandchildren, Grayson Hall and Teagan Frey; a golfing buddy of over 30 years, Paul “Dog Man” Leonard; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
