James "Ralph" Deason

James “Ralph” Deason, 76 of Smiths Station, AL, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am EST, on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Ralph was born on July 30, 1939, in Apalachicola, FL, the son of the late James Clifford Deason and Kathleen Arrington Deason. He retired from MEAD and was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Masonic Lodge. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, Alabama Crimson Tide and fellowship with friends.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Gary Deason.

He is survived by his daughter, Dara Hendley, husband Jeff of Smiths Station, AL; 2 sons Drew Deason, wife Lisa of Smiths Station, AL and Bubba Atkins of Smiths Station, AL; 3 grandchildren, Caleb, Elle and Hunter; extended family members and many caring friends.
