James W. Britton, 67, of Columbus, GA passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Columbus Hospice. The family will receive friends Monday, February 17, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm est.
James was born on November 14, 1952 in Columbus, GA, son of late James H. Britton and Carrie Alice Mae Price. He proudly served his community as a Customer Relations Specialist for Energy Savers for many years. Mr. Britton attended church at Trinity Assembly of God in Columbus. James was a member of the church choir for over 50 years, and everyone loved his tenor voice.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Britton and his brother-in-law, Lyle Wilcox
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Deborah Joan Britton (Montgomery); daughter, Jayme Britton Graham of Columbus, GA; sister, June Wilcox of Eugene, OR; grandson, Siler Graham and soon-to-be granddaughter, Everly Graham; mother-in-law, Jeanette Montgomery; sister-in-law, Ethel Britton of Smiths Station, AL; brothers-in-law, Michael Montgomery (Pat) of Virginia Beach, VA, Terry Montgomery of Phenix City, AL, and Chris Montgomery (Renee) of Columbus, GA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of James Britton to the Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA 31909.
