Jane Elizabeth Smith

Ms. Jane Elizabeth Richardson Smith, 73, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ms. Smith was born August 15, 1951 in Bar Harbor, ME, daughter of the late Edgar Richardson and Alice Cirard Richardson. She had a passion for animals and flowers. Ms. Smith also enjoyed soap operas and spending time with her neighbors in Tennessee and Alabama. Above all, she loved her grandchildren. 

Ms. Smith is survived by two sons, Ralph Hodgdon, Jr. and wife Natalie of Smiths Station, AL and Brandon Hodgdon and wife Laura of Seal Cove, ME; a sister, Virginia Mudge and husband Roland of Dover, TN; a brother, Billy Richardson of Bass Harbor, ME; two grandchildren, Tyler Hodgdon (Elizabeth) and Trenton Hodgdon; as well as several extended family and friends.
