Janice Cindy Hansen

Mrs. Janice “Cindy” Mahoney Hansen,70, of Fortson, Georgia passed away February 9, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  

A funeral service will be held Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. EST at Piney Grove Baptist, 20 GA-Hwy 315 Fortson, GA 31808 with Pastor Mickey Adams officiating.  Interment will be at 2:30 P.M. EST at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday February 12, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road Columbus, GA. 31907

Mrs. Hansen was born to William A. Mahoney and Mrytle Hardy Byrd on November 13, 1947 in Munich, Germany.  Cindy was a homemaker and a longtime member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, GA as well as an outstanding longtime member of DAV Auxiliary, Muscogee Unit 7, VFW.

She is preceded in death by her father, William A. Mahoney and her step-father and mother, Edgar N. Byrd and Myrtle H. Byrd.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of twenty-four years, Stuart Lindsay Hansen, four sons, Jim Myrick and wife Tammy of Columbus, GA, Randy Myrick and wife Linda of Centerville, GA, Jamie Hansen of Texas and Michael Hansen of Fortson, GA. One sister, Coleen M. Bland of LaGrange, GA, two brothers, Paul Byrd (Tina) and Mark Byrd (Malissa) all of Phenix City, AL. Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Jeremy, Hayden and Jenna Myrick.
