Jeanette R. Monk

Jeanette R. Monk, 85, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at her home.  The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Vance Brooks Funeral Home (Vance Memorial Chapel) Facebook page on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Jeanette was born on March 14, 1935 in Pike County, AL to the late Tupp and Jessie Lee Rushing. She worked for many years as a Cloth Inspector at West Point Pepperell. Jeanette enjoyed playing Dominos and loved to read. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and loved each of them dearly.

Other than her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Monk and grandson, Kelly Wayne Shay.

Survivors include her daughters, Janet Lumpkin and Rebecca Shay, both of Columbus, GA; sons, Ricky Dixon (Sharon) of Mobile, AL and Michael Dixon of Columbus, GA; sister, Ruth Smith (R.B.) of Phenix City, AL; brother, Harmon “Boots” Rushing (Mary Ann) of Ellerslie, GA; grandchildren: Wayne Adams, Jeremiah Shay, Amber Shay, Autumn Shay, Sarah Stewart, Timothy Dixon, Michael Dixon, Jr., and Dakota Dixon.
