Mrs. Jeannine A. Duke-Tidd, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at Thrive Assisted Living in Columbus, GA.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm EST, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Dawson and Robb Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the graveside.
Mrs. Duke-Tidd was born March 1, 1933 in Salem, AL, daughter of the late William Pinkney Allrid and Mary Jarrell Taylor. She retired from Mead Coated Board, where she worked as a purchasing agent. After retirement, she worked for many years at the Russell County Revenue Commissioner’s office. Mrs. Duke-Tidd was a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and was once elected Queen of the Shriners Mardi Gras Ball. She was also a big supporter of the Clothes Closet at Summerville Baptist Church, where she was a long time member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands Robert E. Lee and Haywood Tidd; as well as a sister, Ann Randall.
She is survived two sons, Don Duke, Jr. and wife Carol and Ed Duke and wife Debbie, all of Salem, AL; a sister, Billie Dawson of Smiths Station, AL; grandchildren, Tripp Duke (Morgan), Lauren Anderson (Chris), Taylor Duke and Coleman Duke; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
