Jeffery Joseph Justice, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on March 21, 1959, Jeffery lived a life dedicated to service and family. A funeral service to honor Jeffery’s life will be held on Wednesday March 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM (EST) at Vance Brooks Funeral Home Columbus 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 followed by an interment service at 12:30 PM (EST) at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
As a man, Jeffery was known for his outspoken and extroverted personality. He commanded attention when he entered a room and was deeply respected by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His good nature and unwavering commitment to his family were evident in all that he did. He was truly a devoted family man.
All his life, Jeffery was sure of one thing: he wanted to serve in the military. He achieved that dream in 1978 when he joined the United States Army. Over the course of his career, Jeffery earned multiple awards and was a decorated infantryman. He retired as a Sergeant First Class after 22 years of honorable service to his country.
In addition to his military career, Jeffery had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He cherished his time spent fishing during his younger years and had a passion for collecting military memorabilia, stamps, and coins, immersing himself in the history they represented.
Jeffery is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Trang Thi Justice, who stood by his side through all of life’s journeys. He is also survived by his daughter Janice Elston of Phenix City, AL; son Khiem Nguyen (Loc) of Columbus, GA; his father Walter D. Justice; sisters, Stacie Revlock (Jeffrey) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Tracy Toth (Robert) of Howard, OH; brother Gregory Justice (Theresa) of Opelika AL; grandchildren, Khoi Nguyen (Thi), Olivia Elston, Seth Elston, Jimmy Nguyen, and Kevin Nguyen, as well as his great grandson, Kayden Nguyen.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara A. Gurney.
The legacy that Jeffery leaves behind is one of love, courage, and a sense of duty to family and country. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
