Jenny Lynn Dempsey entered her heavenly home on February 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City including a visitation on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 6:00 – 8:00 pm and a funeral service on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00 am. Services will conclude with a procession to Lakeview Memory Gardens for burial.
Jenny Lynn was born on March 25, 1945, to the late Joe Preston Hall and Mary Louise Osborne-Hall in Columbus, GA. After graduating from Central High School, she obtained her cosmetology license. She was faithfully married to the love of her life, Oscar Dempsey, for 48 years until his passing in 2011. Jenny Lynn enjoyed putting together flower arrangements and doing arts and crafts. She spent her time cooking and baking, especially her delicious biscuits, and eating donuts any time she could. She always took care of other people, feeding them, doing anything she could to make them feel welcome, and making them her sweet, iced tea. She was a true southern lady. Jenny Lynn had a big heart, was sweet, loving and very caring. Jenny Lynn will be missed deeply by those who knew and loved her.
Jenny Lynn Dempsey is preceded in her death by her husband, Oscar Dempsey; parents, Joe Preston Hall and Mary Louise Osborne-Hall; and sister, JoAnn Brewer.
She is survived by her children, David Dempsey (Robin) of Seale, AL and Joy Lynn Meredith (Michael) of Wetumpka, AL; and grandchildren, Krista Dempsey-Bell (Adam), Devin Dempsey (Jennifer) and daughter Lily, Deanna Lynn Meredith and sons, Easton and Cole, and Jennifer Meredith-Polk (Kyle).
