Jerry Eugene Hill

Jerry E. Hill, 84, of Phenix City, AL died at St. Francis Hospital Saturday, November 02, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Dr. Rick Mitchell officiating. A private internment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Hill was born November 29, 1934 in Topeka, KS son of the late Francis Hill and Grace Ewer Hill. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and a local business owner for many years. Mr. Hill loved his family, especially the grandchildren and enjoyed Auburn Football. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA for many years.   We will remember him as one who never met a stranger and had the gift of making others feel at ease with his gentle sense of humor.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Janice “Jan” Hall Hill and two brothers, Lowell Hill and Richard Hill.

Survivors include his two daughters Donna Lee, FL and Diane Orsbon, TN; son, Johnny Richmond (Bridgette), Phenix City, AL; sister, Linda Hill Gardner, NY; grandchildren, Lauren, Brenden, Johnny III, Alyssa, Mark Jr., Jeremy, Charity and Michael; great-grandchildren, Mellisa, Jayden, Elijah, Gabriel, Gwyn, Caleigh, Emma, Auna, Ashtyn, and Addyson;  several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
