Jerry F. Jones Sr.

Jerry F. Jones, Sr., age 80, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5-7 p.m.
Mr. Jones, son of the late Marvin Jones and Florine Watson Jones, was born October 25, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia. He worked his entire lifetime in the automobile industry at dealerships, many of those years as a manager. Mr. Jones was a simple man, loved fishing, old cars and trucks, and riding his John Deere tractor. He always looked forward to having meals with his family and watching Auburn football games. The family remembers him as a loving and hard-working man, who always provided for his family.
Other than his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Fillingim. He is survived by his wife, Dot Jones; two sons, Clayton Jones and Jerry Jones, Jr; two daughters, Debora Williams and Lisa Boswell; brother, Tim Jones; sister, Dyann Bowman; four grandsons, Ryan Yancey, Sam Beman, Jr., Nick Beman, and Josh Beman; two great-granddaughters, Rose Yancy and Gloria Beman; many other relatives and friends.
