Mr. Carver, son of the late Charlie Glen Carver and Carrie Bell Bingham Carver, was born June 4, 1950 in Marietta, Georgia. He was in the concrete business for nearly 60 years and owned his own business for over 45 of those years. Mr. Carver was Baptist by faith and was known by many as a “trouble shooter,” particularly with his carpentry skills. He was a man that enjoyed nature and being outdoors. His family and friends would many times see him sitting on his back porch drinking coffee and contemplating his next home renovation project. He also looked forward to hunting and fishing, but more than that he enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.
The family remembers him as a stern, but yet gentle man, who always gave and helped family and friends – always demonstrating unconditional love.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Ann Carver; and two brothers, Samuel Ray Carver and Ronald Gasaway.
Mr. Carver is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Theresa Bagley Carver; three daughters, Stacy Carver Benson and her husband James of Canton, Georgia, Jamie Lynn Carver Woods and her husband Demarcus of Wynne, Arkansas, and Gina Carver Yarbrough and her husband Jason of Canton, Georgia; three bonus children, Cynthia Burkett and her husband Ricky of Smiths Station, Alabama, Larry R. Bagley and his wife Yvonne of Columbus, Georgia, and Stephanie Carmoega and her husband Michael of Russell County, Alabama; two sisters, Sheila Brotman and her husband Joel of Woodstock, Georgia and Kathy Gasaway of Marietta, Georgia; three brothers, Larry Gasaway and his wife Patty of Canton, Georgia, Lewis Gasaway of Greensboro, Georgia, Ricky Gasaway of Sandersville, Georgia, Tim Gasaway and his wife Sherry of Acworth, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Ansley, Maxwell “Max”, Sawyer, Caleb, Colton, Calailah, Sierra, and Charlie; three bonus grandchildren; one great-grandson, Kovu; many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Mineral Springs Center, Inc. to help adults with developmental disabilities, 35 Circle Drive, Blue Ridge, Georgia 30513 or St Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
