Jimmie Dorothy Debice

Jimmie Dorothy DeBice, 93, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully at St Francis Hospital Wednesday, September 23, 2015. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, Ga. 31907. Interment will conclude at Parkhill cemetery. Reverend Dan Tharpe will be officiating services.  The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST. Serving as pallbearers will be, Micheal DeBice, Phillip DeBice, Kevin Nixon, Billy Candlin, Charlton Martin and John Powell.

Jimmie Dorothy DeBice was born November 1, 1921 in Troy, AL. Daughter of the late John Frank Reeves and Arrie Phoenix Reeves.  Jimmie was a member of Warm Springs Road Church of Christ. She held God and her family close to her heart and loved them dearly. She was a wonderful cook. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Claude Riley DeBice; sons, Claude Raymond and Phillip Rennie; sisters, Ruby Reeves, Edna Reeves, Melma Seymour, Betty Jean Ingram, Sara Ledford; brothers, Havard Reeves, and Alec Lamar Reeves.

Jimmie leaves to cherish her memory, son, Jimmy DeBice and wife Jean of Hamilton, GA; daughters in laws, Janice DeBice, of Columbus, GA, and Julie DeBice, of Orlando, FL; sister, Othelia Boling, of Columbus, GA; brother, Chester Reeves and wife Liz, of Sebring, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren. Jimmie also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews and many caring friends.
