Jimmy Belton Sanders, 68, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Ronnie Jordan officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Sanders was born May 10, 1948 in Columbus, GA to the late Belton J. Sanders and Lubie Farmer Sanders. He was retired from Colonial Bakery in Columbus, GA with 30 years of service. He served our country and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served the local area as Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the Georgia Indian Culture Association. He enjoyed blacksmithing and was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his children, Stanley Sanders and wife Lisa, Jason Sanders and wife Landy, Tracee Brackins and husband Larry, and Rodney Sanders and wife Angie; two sisters, Pamela Cobb, and Janice Rudd and husband Ronnie, one brother, Ronnie Sanders, (8) grandchildren, Brandon Sanders (Terri), Lindsey Sanders, Hunter Sanders, Madison Williams, Logan Williams, Caleb Sanders, Brayden Sanders, and Kendall Sanders, several nieces and nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
