Jimmy C. Kobeck, Sr.

SFC Retired Jimmy C. Kobeck, Sr. 70, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM EST.  Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Vance-Brooks from 6:00 P.M. EST until 8:00 P.M. EST.

SFC Kobeck was born February 22, 1948 in Louisville, KY, son of the late, Barney E. Kobeck and Lizzie May Seavers Kobeck. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he retired after 20 years of service.  During his tenure with the Army he served during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.  SFC Kobeck was a member of VFW post 665 on Victory Drive as well as the Red Cross. His hobby was golf, but he was a big fan of Atlanta Falcons football and Atlanta Braves baseball.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Kobeck, Joe Kobeck and one sister, Linda Kobeck.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Yen Thi Kobeck two daughters, Jenette Locasio of Jacksonville, FL and Jaime Mall of Tampa, FL, one son, SSG Jimmy C. Kobeck, Jr. and wife Lizzie of Columbus GA and one brother Terry Kobeck of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Desiree, Dominique, Arianna, Andre’a, Jaryani, Jimmy III and Salenna; several other extended family and friends.
