Jimmy Dale Shaw Sr.

Jimmy Dale Shaw, Sr., 79, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Sunday, August 7, 2022 beginning at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ken Lott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service. The interment will take place at Parkhill Cemetery on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 am.

Jimmy was born on April 23, 1943 in Columbus, GA to Wilmer Ardel Shaw and Helen Wynn Shaw. He was employed with A&P grocery store where he retired as a market manager. He was known for his need for speed, his passion was fast cars and fast motorcycles. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a laid-back personality. Jimmy was kindhearted and had a giving spirit, always looking for ways to make others happy. Above all, Jimmy loved and cared for his friends and family. He will be greatly missed, but he has undoubtedly left his mark on the hearts of many throughout his life.

Other than his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his brother Lamar and his nephew Jim. Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Shaw and son Jimmy Shaw, Jr., both of Columbus, GA, sister Jean Shaw of Riverside, CA, brothers Larry Shaw of Byhalia, MS and grandchildren Katie and Caleb, nieces Michelle, Denise, Jeanie, and Janet, and nephews Craig, Kevin, Jeff, and Jeremy.
